Multi-Parameter Environmental Monitoring with Real-Time ALERT2 Telemetry
Water quality monitoring is critical for environmental compliance, public health protection, watershed management, and aquatic ecosystem research. HydroLynx water quality stations provide continuous, real-time measurement of multiple water quality parameters and transmit data to base stations via ALERT2 radio telemetry — giving operators immediate awareness of changing conditions at remote sites.
HydroLynx water quality stations support up to six probes measuring:
Water temperature — fundamental parameter for aquatic habitat assessment, industrial discharge compliance, and calibration of other sensors.
Specific conductivity — an indicator of total dissolved solids, salinity, and contamination events.
pH — acidity and alkalinity measurement for environmental health, aquatic habitat, and industrial discharge monitoring.
Dissolved oxygen — the primary indicator of water body health and ability to support aquatic life.
Turbidity — suspended sediment measurement for erosion monitoring, stormwater compliance, and drinking water source protection.
Additional element-specific probes can be configured based on application requirements. All water quality sensors connect to the HydroLynx data transmitter through the industry-standard SDI-12 digital interface, which provides a flexible, standardized input for different sensor configurations.

Complete ALERT2 packaged water quality station with 50388 two-way transmitter for remote polling and diagnostics.
The SDI-12 (Serial Digital Interface at 1200 baud) protocol is the industry standard for connecting environmental sensors to data loggers and transmitters. Because HydroLynx water quality stations use SDI-12, agencies can select the water quality probe that best fits their monitoring requirements from any SDI-12-compatible sensor manufacturer. This means you are not locked into a proprietary sensor ecosystem — you can choose the best sensors for your application and your budget.
HydroLynx water quality stations are deployed in applications including municipal wastewater discharge monitoring, stormwater NPDES permit compliance, drinking water source protection, reservoir and lake water quality tracking, aquaculture operations, and post-wildfire watershed monitoring.
